Warning!!!!!!!!!
LIB VER ROUTINE TESTS FOR KICKSTART 39 OR ABOVE, WHICH IS ON WORKBENCH 3.0.
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN THE 'LIST LIBRARY VERSIONS IN BULK' FEATURE
UNLESS YOU HAVE WORKBENCH 3.0 OR ABOVE SINCE YOUR MACHINE WOULD CRASH,
HOWEVER THE INDIVIDUAL LISTING MODE OF THE LIBRARY SEEMS TO WORK FINE ON
ON WB2.0.
THE FOLLOWING FILES ARE REQUIRED TO BE IN THE 'C' DIRECTORY OF YOUR STARTUP
DISK OR PARTITION FOR THIS PROGRAM TO WORK PROPERLY:
DIR,LIST,COPY,RUN,NEWCLI,ENDCLI,RENAME,DELETE,VERSION,JOIN,DISKCHANGE,STATUS
WHERE_K PROGRAM
WHERE_K IS A UTILITY FOR LOCATING FILES ANYWHERE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.
WHILE THIS PROGRAM IS BASICALLY A HARD DRIVE UTILITY IT CAN BE USED FOR
FLOPPY DRIVES, OPTICAL DRIVES ETC.
THIS PROGRAM WILL ALLOW YOU TO CREATE A TEMPORARY FILE OR PERMANENT FILE
CONTAINING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ABOUT THE FILES ON YOU DRIVE:
Name of File, Size of File, File status, Date saved and Time saved
NEW WAY TO INSTALL
MOVE THE DRAWER NAMED WHERE_K TO YOUR HARD DRIVE IN ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING PARTATIONS:
HD0:,HD1:,DH0:,DH1 OR KEEP ON A FLOPPY IN DRIVES DF0: OR DF1:
IF YOU DOWNLOADED THIS PROGRAM AND DIDN'T GET IT FROM A FRED FISH DISK
AND THE DECOMPRESSION PROGRAM DIDN'T KEEP THE FILES IN THE DRAWERS
USE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:
RENAME THE EMPTY 'WHERE_K' AND 'SCRIPTS' DRAWERS TO X AND XX.
MAKE A COPY OF THE DRAWER CALLED 'EMPTY' ON YOUR WORKBENCH. RENAME THE
COPY TO 'Where_K'.
PUT WHEREK98 INTO THE DRAWER ALONG WITH THE COMP.HELP FILE.
COPY THE 'EMPTY' DRAWER AGAIN. RENAME IT AS 'Scripts'.
PUT ALL THE FILES ENDING IN '.scr' INTO THE 'SCRIPTS' DRAWER (THEY HAVE
NO ICONS). PUT THE 'SCRIPTS' DRAWER INTO THE WHERE_K DRAWER. YOU MAY ALSO
WANT TO PUT 'READ-ME-FIRST!!!', 'SCRIPT.DOCS' AND 'SETUP' INTO THE
'WHERE_K' DRAWER BUT IT IS NOT A NECESSITY.
IF YOU ARE SURE THE X AND XX DRAWERS ARE EMPTY DELETE THEM. IF THERE
ARE ANY FILES IN THEM, PUT THESE FILES IN THE NEW DRAWERS WHERE THEY
BELONG.
YOU WILL BE CREATING AND SAVING 3 FILES AS YOU CONTINUE TO USE THE
PROGRAM. THIS DRAWER IS AN IDEAL PLACE TO KEEP THEM. THE FILES WILL
BE WHEREVAR - THE TINY BUTTON SETTINGS, EDINFO - THE PATH INFORMATION
FOR THE EDITOR YOU HAVE YOU SELECTED TO READ YOUR TEXT FILES
AND DDBASE_K - YOUR DISK DATA BASE FOR THE LISTING OF THE CATALOGED DISKS.
IF YOU DON'T CATALOG DISKS YOU WON'T BE CREATING THE DDBASE_K FILE.
IF YOU DON'T SET THE TINY BUTTONS YOU WON'T CREATE THE WHEREVAR FILE.
IF YOU DON'T SET THE CUSTOM EDITOR YOU WON'T CREATE THE EDINFO FILE.
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO SELECT ANY OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS FOR THE PROGRAM
TO RUN.
IMPORTANT - - YOU MUST PUT THE DRAWER CALLED WK_ICONS IN THE WHERE_K
DRAWER IN ORDER FOR THE ICON ROUTINE TO WORK.
FLIPPING BETWEEN WHERE_K AND CLI, TEXT EDITORS
OR WORKBENCH - USE THE '1' ON THE KEYPAD OR USE LEFT
'A'MIGA KEY + 'A'
PROGRAM PRIORITY:
THIS PROGRAM WILL LOOK FOR ITS LOCATION IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
DF0:,DF1:,DH0:,DH1:,HD0:,HD1:
*NOTE IF YOU HAVE WHERE_K ON A DISK IN DRIVE DF0: AND ON A HARD
DISK THIS PROGRAM WILL ALWAYS USE DF0: FOR THE PROGRAM LOCATION
SINCE YOU SEE BY THE ABOVE EXAMPLE THAT DF0: HAS A HIGHER
PRIORITY.
USING THE HIDDEN MENU:
PRESS THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON TO REVEAL THE 'NEEDFULLTHINGS' MENU.
MENU ITEMS:
1. CHANGE TEXT EDITOR
2. PRINT ANY TEXT FILE
3. RAM READ
4. DELETE FILE
5. ABOUT
THIS PROGRAM GIVES YOU A CHANCE TO LOAD AND USE THE TEXT EDITOR OF YOUR
CHOICE. ONCE THIS EDITOR IS SELECTED, AS LONG AS IT IS ON YOUR HARD DRIVE
IF WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOAD EACH TIME YOU USE THIS PROGRAM. CLICKING
CANCEL INSTEAD OF LOADING A TEXT EDITOR WILL ACTIVATE THE DEFAULT
FILE READER.
CHANGE TEXT EDITOR - WHERE_K IS ABLE TO RUN ANY TEXT EDITOR OF YOUR
CHOICE. SELECT MENU ITEM 1 AND FOLLOW THE EASY
INSTRUCTIONS TO SELECT THE TEXT EDITOR YOU WANT TO
TO USE. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE TEXT EDITOR OR
FILE READER YOU SELECT SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE ON YOUR
HARD DRIVE. IF IT IS NOT IT SHOULD BE PUT THERE.
A TEXT EDITOR OR FILE READER WITH A SEARCH
CAPABILITY IS INVALUABLE WHEN SEARCHING FOR A FILE.
EXAMPLES OF TEXT EDITORS ARE ED IN YOU C DIRECTORY,
ITS O.K. BUT THE SEARCH IS CASE SENSITIVE UNLESS
YOU CHANGE IT USING 'ESC' 'UC', SEE THE USER'S
MANUAL FOR THE AMIGA. I PREFER SEVERAL OF THE
EDITORS THAT ARE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, OR FILE
READERS SUCH AS MUCHMORE AND PPMORE.
*I PREFER USING A FILE READER AS THERE IS NO CHANCE
OF ACCIDENTLY CHANGING A FILE.
PRINT ANY TEXT FILE- PRINTS ANY TEXT FILE CREATED BY THIS PROGRAM SUCH
AS WHERE_IS, DDBASE_K ETC. WILL ALSO PRINT ANY ASCII
FILE.
RAM READ - ALLOWS A FAST METHOD FOR SEEING WHAT FILES
ARE IN RAM:
DELETE ANY FILE - USE THE DELETE GADGET TO ERASE ANY FILE ANYWHERE.
BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE THE FILE IS USUALLY LOST
FOREVER UNLESS YOU HAVE AN UNDELETE UTILITY.
ABOUT - THE USUAL BORING BUT NECESSARY INFO, SUCH AS
VERSION NUMBER, DATE, AUTHOR ETC. LOOK FOR LATER
UPGRADES IN THE FUTURE.
USING THE BUTTONS:
CREATE TEMPORARY LIST - FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS WILL CREATE A
TEMPORARY FILE OF YOUR PARTITION OR DIRECTORY
CONTENTS DEPENDING ON WHICH YOU SELECTED. THIS FILE
IS IN ASCII AND CAN BE READ BY A VARIETY OF READERS.
AS MENTIONED ABOVE IT IS BEST TO USE A READER OR
TEXT EDITOR THAT HAS A SEARCH FACILITY. WHEN YOU
EXIT THE PROGRAM THE FILE WILL BE ERASED. THE NAME
OF THE FILE IS 'WHERE_IS".
CREATION OPTIONS:
LIST - OPT A - OPT D
THESE OPTIONS ARE DOS OPTIONS. LIST IS
THE STANDARD LIST COMMAND WHILE OPT A AND
D ARE DIRECTORY COMMANDS.(SEE DOS COMMANDS IN
YOUR AMIGA MANUAL). OPT A LISTS EVERYTHING
INCLUDING ALL SUB-DIRECTORIES AND FILES. OPT D
LISTS ONLY DIRECTORIES.
CREATE PERMANENT LIST - SAME AS ABOVE BUT STORES THE FILE PERMANENTLY ON
YOUR HARD DRIVE OR DISK. JUST PRESS THE BUTTON AND
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. IF YOU HAVE NOT CREATED A
TEMPORARY LIST YOU CAN NOT CREATE A PERMANENT LIST.
THIS MODE COPIES THE TEMPORARY LIST TO THE LOCATION
OF YOUR CHOICE.
RENAME - NEVER CHANGE THE NAMES OF THE FILES IN RAM:.!!!
HAVING SAID THIS YOU CAN PERMANENT MODE TO
SAVE YOUR 'WHERE_IS' FILE ANYWHERE AND THEN
RENAME IT IF YOU SO DESIRE. REMEMBER ONLY THE
LAST FILE NAMED 'WHERE_IS' IN THE SAME
DIRECTORY IS SAVED. IF YOU RENAME THE 'WHERE_IS'
FILE YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY DIFFERENTLY NAMED
FILES IN THE SAME DIRECTORY. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU
SAVE A LIST OF THE C DIRECTORY FROM WORKBENCH
YOU COULD RENAME IT C_DIR, THEN YOU COULD SAVE
THE LIBS DIRECTORY AND RENAME IT LIBS_DIR ETC.
READER - BRINGS UP THE TEXT EDITOR OR TEXT READER YOU
SELECTED FOR READING, OR IF NONE PICKED, BRINGS
UP THE AMOS FILE READER
RUN - MULTITASK A PROGRAM.
NOT FOR SCRIPTS, BUT MANY PROGRAMS WILL
RUN THIS WAY. BEWARE IF THE PROGRAM YOU RUN
DOESN'T HAVE A QUIT GADGET YOU WON'T BE ABLE
TO STOP IT. BEWARE #2 - IF YOU DON'T HAVE
SUFFICIENT MEMORY YOUR MACHINE COULD CRASH.
THIS PROGRAM STILL CONTINUES TO RUN IN THE
BACKGROUND. ACTUALLY SAME AS RUN UTILITY.
HELP - PRESSING THIS BUTTON ALLOWS YOU ACCESS TO THE
BUTTON AND MENU HELP FILE. EACH BUTTON WHEN
PRESSED AND EACH MENU ITEM WHEN SELECTED WILL
SHOW ITS FUNCTION IN THE SMALL TEXT WINDOW AS
LONG AS YOUR MOUSE CURSOR IS A QUESTION MARK.
LIB VER GIVES AN INSTANT LIST OF ALL LIBRARY VERSIONS
ON YOUR HARD DRIVE IN THE LIBS DIRECTORY AND
ALSO SHOWS THE WORKBENCH AND KICKSTART VERSIONS.
THE LIST CAN BE PRINTED IF DESIRED. VERY HANDY
WHEN YOU RECEIVE LIBRARIES AND DON'T KNOW WHICH
ARE LATER VERSIONS YOURS OR THE ONES RECEIVED?
CAN ALSO SHOW VERSIONS OF LIBRARIES ON DISKS.
DISK CAT - HERE IT IS. THIS CATALOGER WILL CATALOG
EVERYTHING ON YOUR DISK AND SAVE IT AS A FILE
AND BUILD ON THAT FILE AS YOU ADD DISKS. TO
OPERATE JUST PUT A DISK IN DF0:, THERE IS NO
TYPING REQUIRED. SEVERAL OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE
FOR THE FORM OF YOUR DATA. MY SUGGESTION HERE
IS, IF YOU ARE CATALOGING PUBLIC DOMAIN PROGRAMS
MAKE A DIRECTORY FOR EACH ONE ON YOUR DISK
AND GIVE IT THE PROGRAM NAME AND VERSION, THEN
CHOOSE 'OPT D'. THE REASON FOR THIS IS YOU WILL
GET THE SMALLEST DATA FILE AND YET WILL HAVE
ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED. THIS CATALOGER
ONLY READS 'DOS' DISKS.
PRESSING THE 'ESC' KEY WILL EXIT IF CAT MODE IS
REQUESTING A DISK BE INSERTED.
SCRIPTS - RUNS DOS SCRIPTS IN FRONT OR BEHIND PROGRAM
BOTTOM ROW 1 BUTTONS:
PICTURE: LOADS AND DISPLAYS ANY IFF PICTURE. SORRY NO
AGA AVAILABLE YET.
MUSIC: LOADS AND PLAYS THE POPULAR 'MOD' FORMAT MUSIC.
(SOUND TRACKER MODS)
DDBASE_K: LOADS YOUR SAVED DISK DATA BASE TO RAM:. AFTER
IT IS LOADED IT IS RENAMED DDBASE_K FOR EASY
HANDELING. REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE NAME BEFORE
SAVING IF YOU WANT TO SAVE IT AND ALREADY HAVE
HAVE A DIFFERENT FILE THAT IS USING DDBASE_K.
COMPARE: A NEW COMPARE UTILITY HAS BEEN ADDED. IT IS MUCH
FASTER THAN THE OLD ONE. THE DATA BASES CREATED
USING VERSIONS OF WHERE_K PRIOR TO V9.7 WILL NOT
WORK WITH THIS NEW ROUTINE. THE OLD SEARCH
ROUTINE IS ALSO INCLUDED. THE BUTTONS ON THIS
SCREEN ARE AS FOLLOWS:
HOW ? - INSTRUCTIONS
DIR - ALLOWS YOU TO USE THE SELECTOR TO CHOOSE
THE FILES TO COMPARE
PRT - TOGGLES THE PRINTER ON AND OFF
FLTR - FILTER FOR SEARCH. IF ANY PART OF THE
STRING YOU ENTER IN THE FILTER
APPEARS IN A FILE IN THE DATA BASE
IT WON'T BE COMPARED BUT SKIPPED.
DF0: - SET SELECTOR TO COMPARE FILES FROM
THE FIRST DIRECTORY ON DF0:
DF1: - SAME AS ABOVE BUT USED DF1:
OLD - ALLOWS YOU TO USE THE OLD SEARCH
ROUTINE.
DO - THIS BEGINS THE PROCESS OF COMPARING
USING YOUR SELECTED OPTIONS.
THE FILTER IS NOT CASE SENSITIVE. TO TURN IT OFF EITHER PRESS THE
'FLTR' BUTTON AGAIN OR ENTER <RETURN> WITHOUT ANY INFORMATION IN
THE FILTER INPUT WINDOW.
A DATABASE WHICH WAS CREATED PRIOR TO THIS VERSION OF WHERE_K CAN
BE UPDATED BY LOADING IN TO PROWRITE, SELECTING THE EDIT MENU AND
ITEM SELECT ALL, NEXT SELECT CHANGE CASE, UPPER CASE IN THE SAME
MENU THEN SAVE TEXT-ONLY. OTHER WORD PROCESSORS MAY WORK BUT I HAVEN'T
TRIED THEM. MAKE A COPY OF THE DISK WITH YOUR DATA BASE, DON'T USE
THE ORIGIONAL, WHY TAKE CHANCES?
OLD COMPARE: IF YOU SAVE YOUR DOWNLOADED PROGRAMS EACH IN ITS
OWN SEPARATE DRAWER AND NAME THAT
DRAWER(DIRECTORY) WITH THE PROGRAM NAME AND
VERSION e.g. 'ProgramnameV1.0', YOU CAN NOW
COMPARE THIS DISK TO YOUR DATA BASE AFTER IT
HAS BEEN LOADED TO RAM:. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE
THIS PROGRAM IN YOUR DATA BASE YOU WILL BE
ALERTED, THE OPERATION IS AUTOMATIC. PUT THE
DISK WITH THE PROGRAMS TO BE COMPARED ON IT INTO
A DRIVE. PRESS THE COMPARE BUTTON, SELECT THE
DEVICE CONTAINING THE DISK AND TYPE A '*' ON
THE BOTTOM LINE THEN SELECT 'OK'. THE FILES
WILL NOW BE COMPARED.
DIRECTORY: PRESS THE DIRECTORY BUTTON TO VIEW ANY DIRECTORY
OR HARD DRIVE PARTATION.
CLI: PUTS THE COMPLETE AMIGA COMMAND LINE INTERFACE
AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. SEE AMIGA DOS MANUAL.
SOUND: VERY EASY TO USE SOUND SAMPLE PLAYER. JUST
LOAD THE SAMPLE AND IT PLAYS. YOU CAN ADJUST
THE SOUND FREQUENCY AND VOLUME.
BOTTOM ROW 2 BUTTONS:
ICONS: CLICK HERE TO ENTER THE ICON ROUTINE. USE THIS
ROUTINE TO ASSIGN PRE DRAWN ICONS TO FILES THAT
HAVE NONE. REMEMBER THAT AN ICON MUST BE OF THE
RIGHT TYPE TO WORK WITH A FILE. IF YOU ASSIGN
THE WRONG TYPE OF ICON JUST TRY AGAIN, THERE IS
NO HARM DONE.
YOU CAN ALSO ERASE SINGLE ICONS OR ALL ICONS
IN A SPECIFIED DIRECTORY. THIS WILL NOT ERASE
ANY FILES. A FILE WITH THE WRONG TYPE OF ICON
ASSIGNED WILL STILL RUN THROUGH THE CLI.
BLANKER:CLICK HERE TO USE THE SCREEN BLANKER
PROCESS:CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PROCESSES RUNNING BEHIND
WHERE_K. TO EXIT CLICK THE CLOSE GADGET ON THE
PROCESS SCREEN.
MULTIVIEW:IF YOU HAVE MULTIVIEW IN THE UTILITIES DIRECTORY
OF DH0: OR HD0: YOU WILL DIRECT ACCESS TO IT
BY PRESSING THIS BUTTON.
MEM READ:READ BITS AND CHARACTERS IN BLOCKS OF 200
FROM MEMORY. JUST TYPE IN THE STARTING ADDRESS
TO READ AND YOU WILL SEE THIS ADDRESS PLUS THE
NEXT 200 LOCATIONS. YOU CAN PRINT OUT THIS
SCREEN IF DESIRED.
RESTORE:PRESS THIS BUTTON TO REGAIN MEMORY IF NEEDED.
ALL UNUSED WINDOWS AND SCREENS WILL BE CLOSED,
UNUSED MEMORY BANKS ERASED AND UNUSED FILES ERASED
FROM RAM:.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT!!! - TO ADD FILE NAMES TO AN EXISTING
DATABASE YOU MUST FIRST LOAD THE DISK DATA BASE
USING THE BUTTON DDBASE_K.
* SEE CREATION OPTIONS ABOVE.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ + + + PICTURE CATALOGER + + + +
Q. WHAT IS THE PICTURE CATALOGER AND WHAT DOES IT DO?
A. THE PICTURE CATALOGER CREATES A SCREEN THAT HOLDS 24 PICTURES IN
MINITURE SIZE, THAT IT NAMES WITH THE DISK NAME THE PICTURES ARE FROM.
YOU CAN HAVE HAVE AS MANY SCREENS AS NECESSARY TO HOLD THE CONTENTS
OF YOUR PICTURE DISKS. YOU CAN SAVE THESE SCREENS AS IFF FILES
ON THE DISK AND TO ANY FILE YOU DESIRE. THIS ALLOWS YOU TO VIEW
THE PICTURE AND SEE THE CONTENTS OF THE DISK, OR KEEP THE PICTURE
IN A PICTURE DATABASE. SORRY NO AGA YET.
PICTURES CAT SELECTION ON THE CATALOGER LISTING OPTIONS SCREEN. SELECTING
THIS OPTION ALLOWS YOU TO ENTER THE PICTURE
CATALOGER MODE.
CATALOG SCREEN MODE - THE SCREEN WHERE YOU CHOOSE THE TYPE OF SCREEN
UPON WHICH TO SAVE YOU PICTURE DATABASE. E.G.
640X240X16. THIS IS THE DEFAULT AND SEEMS TO
GIVE THE BEST BANG FOR THE MEMORY BUCK. IT IS
640 WIDE X 240 HIGH X 16 COLORS. PICK ANY
RESOLUTION YOU WANT BUT REMEMBER DIFFERENT
MEMORY USAGE AMOUNTS RESULT FROM DIFFERENT TYPES
OF SCREENS. WHEN IN HIRES MODE ONLY 16 COLORS
ARE AVAILABLE. THAT IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM FOR
THIS TYPE OF PROJECT. WHEN SATISFIED PRESS ON OK
OR TO ABORT AND RETURN TO THE MAIN SCREEN PRESS
ON ABORT.
ACTIVE KEYS - WHEN IN PICTURE COMPRESSION MODE (THAT IS WHERE
YOU ARE CREATING A PAGE TO SAVE) THE FOLLOWING
KEYS ARE AVAILABLE:
F1 - SAVE THE SCREEN BEFORE IT IS FULL. AFTER THE
SAVE THE PAGE NUMBER WILL BE INCREASED.
F2 - SHOWS PICTURE WIDTH, HEIGHT, COLORS, TYPE, AND
NAME.
F3 - LOAD AN IFF PICTURE TO VIEW. THIS WON'T HURT
YOUR DISPLAY. ALSO AVAILABLE FROM THE MENU.
ESC - BRINGS UP QUIT OPTIONS SCREEN.
FROM QUIT OPTIONS SCREEN:
ESC - GOES TO MAIN PROGRAM SCREEN.
F9 - CONTINUES ON COMPRESSION MODE WITHOUT
ANY CHANGES.
F10 - CHANGES PAGE FOR NEXT DISK
BEWARE - DF0: IS WHERE ALL YOU PICTURE DISKS ARE TO BE INSERTED. REMOVING
A DISK WILL ERASE THE PAGE YOU ARE ON IN COMPRESSION MODE.
WHEN IN COMPRESSION MODE CLICK THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON TO LOAD THE NEXT
PICTURE TO BE REDUCED. WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED WITH A PAGE CLICK ON
'CANCEL' ON THE MENU TO BRING UP THE QUIT OPTIONS SCREEN.
REMEMBER, TO SAVE A SCREEN THAT IS NOT YET FULL USE F1.
TIPS - IT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER IF YOUR PICTURES ARE SAVED ON A DISK
WITHOUT BEING PUT IN A DIRECTORY. IN THE FUTURE I MAY DEVELOP AN AUTOMATIC
READER AND COMPRESSOR AND IF I DO IT WILL BE GEARED TO DISKS THAT HAVE
PICTURES ON THEM THAT AREN'T IN DIRECTORIES.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAVE - SAVE THE LIB VERSION FILE (Vlibs), THE CATALOG
CATALOG FILE (DDBASE_K) AND/OR THE HARD DRIVE
LIST FILE (WHERE_IS).

A PROGRAM TO DO SO) YOU CAN SELECT VOICE FOR
FOR VOICE CUES. IF MINI BUTTON IS PRESSED WHILE
VOICE BUTTON IS SET ON 'ON' THE VOICE MODE
WON'T CHANGE. YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESS THE VOICE
BUTTON 'OFF' THEN 'ON' AGAIN FOR THE MODE CHANGE
TO TAKE EFFECT.
STATUS - SHOWS STATUS OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
MOUNTED DRIVES AND PARTATIONS
DIRECTORY FILE (WHERE_IS)
DISK DATA BASE FILE (DDBASE_K)
LIBRARY VERSIONS FILE (VLIBS)
NAME AND PATH OF CUSTOM READER(IF EXISTS)
SPACE AVAILABLE ON DISKS AND MAIN 2 HD PARTATIONS
MINI CONFIGURATION BUTTON STATUS
HELP KEY - THATS HOW YOU GOT HERE.
EXIT - EXITS PROGRAM AND ERASES ALL PROGRAM FILES
FROM RAM:
UNDOCUMENTED USE OF THE 'ESC' KEY:
THE ESC KEY CAN BE USED FOR MANY PURPOSES. INITIALLY WHEN YOU ARE ASKED TO
SELECT AN EDITOR OF YOUR CHOICE TO USE YOU CAN PRESS 'ESC' TO BYPASS THE
REQUEST AND AGAIN TO BYPASS THE FILE SELECTOR. 'ESC' CAN BE USED INSTEAD
OF CLICKING ON THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE LIB VERSIONS AND DISK CATALOG

BOTTOM LINE 1 = PATH LINE
BOTTOM LINE 2 = FILE NAME
USE SLIDER OR ARROWS TO MOVE DISPLAY UP AND DOWN.
E.G. HOW TO SAVE A FILE UNDER THE 'SAVE' OPTION:
CLICK ON FILE NAME TO SAVE, IT WILL APPEAR ON THE BOTTOM LINE OF
THE REQUESTOR. IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES IT MIGHT BE NECESSARY TO CLICK
ON 'DEVICES' FIRST THEN CLICK ON THE DEVICE CONTAINING THE FILE TO SAVE
SUCH AS CLICKING ON DEVICES, THEN RAM: FILENAME.
CLICK ON DEVICES AGAIN AND PICK THE DEVICE WHERE YOU WANT TO SAVE
THE FILE TO. YOU CAN ALSO PICK A DIRECTORY IN THAT DEVICE AND SUB
DIRECTORIES. IF YOU DO THIS RIGHT THE FILENAME WILL STILL BE ON THE
BOTTOM LINE OF THE REQUESTOR. YOU MIGHT BE DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS,
CLICKING ON DEVICES,DF1:PROGRAMS/ THEN CLICKING OK. THIS WILL SAVE A
DATA FILE CALLED FILENAME ON DISK DF1: IN DIRECTORY PROGRAMS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
